Rosmarie Friemann received her Ph.D. from the structure biology laboratories of the Biomedical center in Uppsala, Sweden in 2005 where she received training in structural biology and X-ray crystallography. After three postdoctoral fellowships at University of Oslo, Uppsala University and University of Gothenburg she is appointed as assistant professor at the Department of chemistry and molecular biology, University of Gothenburg. She is leading a young research group and where her current research mainly focuses on the structure-function studies of bacterial sialic acid transporters.
