Carol Post
Purdue University, IN, United States
- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Dr. Post obtained a Ph.D. from Bruno Zimm (UCSD, USA) and was a postdoc with Martin Karplus (Harvard, USA) and Chris Dobson (Oxford, England). Currently she is a professor at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. Her research aims to define and understand the molecular mechanisms that regulate protein interactions and enzymatic activity, and utilizes both experimental biophysical techniques and theoretical simulation methods. Major interests are proteins and protein complexes associated with human disease, with current efforts being focused on Src and Syk tyrosine kinase. A third area relates to understanding viral capsid structural properties associated with uncoating and the mechanisms of action for antiviral agents. Dr. Post is an NIH investigator; currently a charter member of the MSFD NIH study section, chaired the BBCA NIH study section, and served on numerous review panels for NIH, DOE and external academic reviews, and on various academic advisory boards. She is President elect of The Protein Society, plus serves on the editorial board and was an associate editor for the journal Protein Science. She has received a FIRST and Research Career Development Awards from the NIH, is a Purdue University Faculty Scholar, and received the JeanAnne D. and James B. Chaney Faculty Scholar Award.
