- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Nobu Tokuriki is Assistant Professor at Michael Smith Laboratories, University of British Columbia. He grew up in Japan and studied at Osaka University. He was trained as post-doctral fellow in the group of Dan Tawfik at the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel), and Jane Clarke at University of Cambridge (UK). Since moved to UBC in 2011, he received two new investigator awards from Michael Smith Foundation of Health Research and Canadian Institute of Health Research.
Nobu’s research focused on understanding evolutionary dynamics and mechanisms of proteins and enzymes. He uses experimental evolution to reconstruct evolutionary trajectories in the laboratory, and characterize molecular basis underlying protein function transition. He also engages to protein engineering to generate novel proteins for industrial applications.
